COMIDA is a Central American youth program centered around education, healing, and joy using a healing justice framework that focuses on the unpacking of our generational trauma and violence. Youth are able to situate themselves in their present and continue the work of generational healing and resistance that began with their ancestors. Healing circles are formal and informal gatherings that center youth and invite generational wisdom of family/elders/community/youth leaders, and are concluded with cultural food making and gathering at the table.
